NLJA Policy on Funding Support For Participation in Judo Activities Outside of Newfoundland & Labrador
Approved: August 28, 2001
Terms of Reference
The Newfoundland &
Labrador Judo Association recognizes the need to increase involvement of its
members in judo activities outside of the province. Athletes, coaches, referees and officials require exposure to
judo at the regional, national and international level in order to improve judo
in our province.
Within the financial
resources available to the NLJA an amount will be allocated annually for
support of travel to recognized judo activities outside of the province. Such activities could include participation
in judo tournaments and instructional clinics for athletes, referees, coaches
or tournament officials. All NLJA
member judo clubs will be informed of the funding available for such travel
support annually.
The NLJA Executive Committee
will review all applications for travel grants and may award grants at its
discretion. The value of any grant
awarded will be set by the Executive Committee according to the contribution of
the funding support to the accomplishment of NLJA objectives and the
availability of funding. For the
2001/2002 season, the NLJA points system standing of the applicant will be considered
in the application review.
Recipients of grants will be
expected to submit a short report on the supported activity to the NLJA
Executive Committee within fifteen days of the completion of the activity. An annual report on funding provided by the
NLJA will be provided at the NLJA Annual General Meeting.
