Join us in historic St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador for a major JUDO experience at the 2014 JUDO ON THE ROCK Training Camp. Led by guest instructors Ron and Tracy Angus, Amy Cotton and Fred Blaney this will be a great opportunity to develop your judo technical abilities. Two major program tracks are available at the camp: Competitive Judo Development OR Refereeing and Kata
Camp Program
The camp will offer two major program tracks that will operate simultaneously - competitive judo development Or Refereeing and Kata for those not primarily interested in developing competitive judo. There will be morning, afternoon and evening training sessions beginning Wednesday, August 20 and ending on Sunday morning, August 24.
The camp will be held at the Newfoundland & Labrador Sports Centre, 90 Crosbie Road in St. John's. There will be two full tournament size mat areas available for training as well as associated facilities for off-mat sessions. The NL Sports Centre offers a full range of services including washrooms, showers and change rooms.

Meet our Camp Instructors
Ron Angus ChPC is a Charter Professional Coach and holds a Diploma in High Performance Coaching from the National Coaching Institute. He is a Level 5 NCCP coach and a 6th Degree Black Belt. Ron was a member of the the Canadian National Judo Team as both an athlete and a coach. He has competed at the World Championships and coached New Zealand at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
Tracy Angus ChPC is a Charter Professional Coach and also holds a Diploma in High Performance Coaching from the Canadian National Coaching Institute. She is a Level 4 NCCP coach and holds a 5th Degree Black Belt. Tracy was a member of the New Zealand National Team and has competed in 7 World Championships. Tracy is currently the High Performance Director for the Newfoundland Judo Association and their Canada Winter Games coach for 2015
Fred Blaney is a 7th degree Black Belt and a former Olympic Judo Competitor for Canada. He is currently a member of the Judo Canada Grading and Kata Board, an international level referee and a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee.
Amy Cotton is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and a long time Canadian National Judo Team Member She participated in both the 2004 and 2012 Olympics for Canada and many national and international competitions.
Registration fees and form
The registration fee for the 2014 camp is $100 per person for the full camp OR $50 for those attending evening sessions only OR $30 per single day session. All participants must be currently registered members of Judo Canada and their provincial judo association with a minimum age of thirteen (13) and minimum judo rank of yellow belt. A completed Registration Form along with payment must be sent to the Newfoundland & Labrador Judo Association, # 112, Unit 50, Hamlyn Road Plaza, St. John's, NL, A1E 5X7 by August 15, 2014. The registration will include a special camp T-Shirt for all camp participants.
